Greetings in the Name of Jesus,
I got back from my travel in China with the Billings, Montana group on August 14 and have spent much of my time since that traveling among our churches in the Bicol Region in the southeast part of Luzon Island. It is wonderful to see so many people’s hearts open to the Gospel all over Asia. I’m so excited to see how God will use us in pressing on to new areas, where there are hearts open to a message of His love. I anticipate a return trip to China early next year to follow up on some new contacts and opportunities to be part of fresh moves of the Holy Spirit among people who are lost, but seeking answers. Also, next week, I will be meeting with some Christians from Viet Nam to pray about some options for sending Filipino missionaries to that country someday.
We have started CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BUILDING IN SAN JOSE (GOA) in the Bicol region. The foundation work is already well underway. I hope to be traveling there by next Sunday night (10 hours by bus) to oversee some of the work and arrange for materials delivery. We hope to have a roof over their heads by December. Completion of the project will require another $8,000. I will be sending some pictures and further information to mission boards later this month, as well as posting pictures on our website. Please be praying for God’s provision and participating as you are able.
All of Luzon continues to experience unusually dry weather for this time of the year. We did get some rain during August, which at least delayed the Metro Manila water crisis. Farmers in most areas are suffering a lack of irrigation water. If major rains do not come soon, both the city and farmers will be facing a major crisis.
Our SCHOOL SUPPORT PROGRAM continues to go well. The eleven high school students being supported here in Navotas are also very active in our church, helping especially with children’s ministry and participating in a regular Bible Study with me. My meetings with the students in provincial locations are less frequent, but they are equally active in their respective locations. In all locations our students are doing well in school. You can be very proud of them and pleased with the good investment you have made in their lives. Before Christmas, I plan a feature newsletter, just on the students.
I continue to struggle with MY HEALTH (MOSTLY MS RELATED). I am determined to press on with the work of the Lord, STRENGTHENED BY YOUR PRAYERS and SUSTAINED BY GOD’S GRACE. Please continue to PRAY FOR ME and ALL OF THE LORD’S MINISTRY TO THE PEOPLE OF ASIA.
In Christ,
Dale
