INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN MISSION, INC.
was incorporated in the State of Montana, U.S.A. in 1989 to serve as a covering organization for the Mission Ministry of Dale E. Mueller, who is ordained and sent to the mission field by Sixth Avenue Christian Church, Havre, Montana, U.S.A.(Now called Fifth Avenue Christian Church).  The initial Board of Advisors consisted of Dale Mueller and seven elders and/or members of Sixth Avenue Christian Church.  The CURRENT BOARD OF ADVISORS is listed below..

The office and records of the corporation are maintained in the office of Fifth Avenue Christian Church, 2015 Fifth Ave., P.O. Box 1328, Havre, MT  59501, U.S.A

THE PURPOSE OF INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN MISSION, INC. IS AS STATED IN ARTICLE I OF ITS ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION:

International Christian Mission and Missionary Dale Mueller are associated with the Independent Christian Churches / Churches of Christ, whose heritage is rooted in the Restoration Movement (also known as the Stone-Campbell Movement).  Accordingly, we are nondenominational and seek to establish independent and nondenominational churches and institutions for the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations of the world.

URGENT NOTICE

FROM MISSIONARY DALE MUELLER

June 15, 2011

Since July 23, 1990, INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN MISSION, INC. (ICM) has enjoyed tax-exempt status with the IRS allowing donations to be tax-deductible.  On June 11, 2011 I received a notice from the IRS that our “tax-exempt status has been revoked automatically.”  According to the IRS this happened because we had not complied with filing requirements of a law added in 2006.  Before 2007, we were not required to file yearly reports because our income was low.  The 2006 law used to revoke us and 275,000 other organizations caught us off guard.  In the IRS’s own words in their Notice 2011-43:

The IRS recognizes that many small organizations that have lost their tax exempt status because they failed to file a Form 990-N e-Postcard for their 2007, 2008, and 2009 taxable years were never required to file an annual return or notice prior to their 2007 taxable year.  The IRS also recognizes that many small organizations are operated by volunteers and may face unique challenges in meeting federal tax obligations…

I have talked this over with my Board of Advisors and they got input from 2 CPA’s.  Since I am sent by the church to do only church work among our churches in Asia, everybody agrees that ICM is no longer needed.  In recent years ICM has functioned only as a mechanism to manage tax-deductible donations in the U.S.  However, the burden of keeping ICM up to date with the IRS has become too time consuming and a distraction to the ministry.  Everybody agrees that our donation mechanism can easily and appropriately be shifted entirely to the Mission Fund of my sending church, Fifth Avenue Christian Church.

So, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, please SEND ALL DONATIONS for our ministry to:

FIFTH AVENUE CHRISTIAN CHURCH - MISSION

P.O. BOX 1328

HAVRE, MT  59501

CHECKS MAY BE MADE PAYABLE TO:

  1. Fifth Avenue Christian Church Mission and designated to Dale Mueller  (This is probably best for individuals sending donations and wanting them to be tax-deductible)

OR

  1. Directly to me, Dale Mueller.  (This is probably best for other Church Mission Funds sending donations.  Some churches have been doing this already in past years.)

IN ALL CASES, 100% OF ALL DONATIONS WILL BE DEPOSITED IN MY BANK ACCOUNT AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO PHILIPPINES.  (Checks already sent to ICM, before receiving this notice, will still be deposited as usual for the time being.)

re:        Your role as advisors

Even though International Christian Mission, Inc. seems on the way out, I, as a missionary, still need a group of advisors to be accountable to, for words of wisdom from time to time, and as advocates for my ministry.  So even though the official corporation is being phased out, I still need you guys on the job.

As a Christian and missionary, I am first of all accountable to the Lord.  In all our lives, accountability to the Lord is worked out in various ways, especially in relationships with fellow brothers in Christ that prove to be Godly role models in our lives.  You were all on the ICM board for that reason and I hope that you continue to fill that role in my life.  It can be less formal with the corporate structure gone, but I will continue to submit myself to your guidance.  I will continue to submit ministry and financial reports to you to maintain transparency and integrity.

Of course I am also submitted to the eldership of my home church.  They are the ones who ordained and sent me out.  As a missionary I have similar secondary relationships with the eldership of all supporting churches and the eldership of the churches we have helped to establish in the Philippines and China.  I seek to be the servant of all, and I expect you brothers to correct me when I am not.

Thank you for sharing my vision for reaching the world and thank you for your steadfast service over the years.  God bless you all.
