SAN JOSE BUILDING PROJECT - 2007

BACK TO NEWSLETTER INDEX

GOA is a city in the province of Camarines Sur, which is part of the Bicol Region.  It takes about 10 hours to get to Goa from Manila by bus.  Our church in Goa began meeting in a rented building in 2001.  In November 2006 we purchased a 665 sq.meter (7,158 sq. feet) lot with a small house in SAN JOSE, about 3 km (less than 2 miles) outside of Goa.  The house is occupied by Pastor Ben Corral and family.  Beginning in  November 2006, the church met in a makeshift lean-to next to the house, made out of bamboo and plastic.    We began construction in September 2007.  The church began meeting in the partially finished building late in 2007.  Although there are still projects to be done to improve it, the basic building was finished in March 2008.  We praise God for providing during a time of low exchange rate for the U.S. Dollar and rising materials cost.  We had a dedication service for the building on March 30, 2008 while a Short-Term Mission Team was here from Fifth Avenue Christian Church, Havre, Montana.
