Dear Friends,
After ending 2005 with a flurry of activity, I’m excited to press on and see what new challenges God will have for us in 2006. 800 people attendED our Christmas Program on December 18 and 400 ATTENDED OUR CHRISTMAS MORNING SERVICE in NAVOTAS. Our building only accommodates 200, so the December 18 event was on the grounds of a local college and on Christmas Day the overflow filled the street in front of the church. We praise God that we were also able to distribute 200 CHRISTMAS FOOD PACKAGES to church families in the week before Christmas.
In December we COMPLETED OUR CARAMOAN BUILDING PROJECT and also COMPLETED DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF BUILDING MATERIALS FOR NAVOTAS FIRE VICTIMS. Overall, from the 1,000 families who lost their houses in the June 14, 2005 fire, we were able to provide building materials for 152 families, including complete houses for 16 families. Pictures of both projects, final budget reports, and a map of the area restored, after being destroyed by fire, can all be found on my website: www.icm-phil.net
This week Ceasar & Sandra Diwa from Faith in Christ Fellowship in Australia have been here on a short-term mission. I’m also preparing for March 1-13 visit of two couples from my home church, FIFTH AVENUE CHRISTIAN CHURCH in Havre, Montana: Chad & Jennifer Leatherman and Hugh & Charolette Gwynn. I am already in the planning stages with another short-term team from Moses Lake Christian Church in Washington for next December. I will be visiting JIANGMEN CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Jiangmen, Guangdong, China at the end of March, with a stop-over in Hong Kong to visit with FELLOW MONTANA MISSIONARIES, Ken & Linda Smyth. Recently, I had the chance to meet and share visions with another Montana Missionary who works in the Northern Luzon, Kay Davidson. All of these just remind us that we are all part the same team, and it’s a special delight when different parts of the team can get together from time to time to rejoice in what God has been doing through us.
We will be SENDING MISSION TEAMS OUT OF OUR NAVOTAS CHURCH again this April and May with a focus on partnering with the RAGAY and CARAMOAN CHURCHES on outreach ministries. Another pressing need that we try to address this year is the lack of permanent buildings in GOA and MALABON, to free us from the burden of monthly rent, and provide opportunities for these growing churches to plan for the future. The NAVOTAS CHURCH, as well, is looking to a future building expansion to accommodate a ministry that has far outgrown our current facilities.
By the grace of God, we are accomplishing much in the midst of poverty. This year, we continue to advance our VISION that poverty is only the world’s feeble attempt to convince Christians that they cannot press on with God’s agenda of taking His message to a lost world. The world’s feeble attempts are nothing in the face of a people who TAKE GOD’S POWER SERIOUSLY and march on, no matter what, with the task of turning people “from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.”(Acts 26:18 b). YOUR PRAYERS, SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT, and FRIENDSHIP are all part of the FRONT-LINE WEAPONS we use here in this part of the world. LET’S KEEP PRESSING FOR JESUS IN 2006!
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME as I will be in remote areas of Southern Luzon (Bicol) from January 21 to 30 visiting and encouraging churches in Ragay, Goa and Caramoan. YOU, YOUR FAMILIES, YOUR CHURCHES and YOUR SERVICE TO GOD ARE ALWAYS IN MY PRAYERS.
Yours in Christ,
Dale
